Hi, I have an old iMac mid 2007 running Leopard 10.5.8 and I upgraded the RAM to 4GB from 1GB.
Creating the Install OS X El Capitan.app on a mac that came with a newer OS than El Capitan. Download the InstallMacOSX.dmg from Section 4 of How To Upgrade To El Capitan Double-click to open InstallMacOSX.dmg to Install MacOSX.pkg. New InstallElCapitan.pkg to the Install OS X El Capitan.app which will be placed in your Applications folder. You can now create a bootable USB using the install app and createinstallmedia, Create A Bootable USB. Can't install OSX el capitan, stuck on installation screen Hello! I tried to install a new copy (clean install from USB booting) but can't do that.
I've done the following steps:
- I created an USB bootable El Capitan installer
- I booted from USB
- I erased all the HDD content and I created a new partition
- tried to Install but I got this error: 'OS X could not be installed on your computer. No packages were eligible for install.'
I don't know what can I do at this point.
